DRY POLISHING PASTES

Standard range

For more than 60 years, TCN has been designing, manufacturing in France, and marketing worldwide a complete range of polishing pastes for the surface treatment of cellulose acetate, cellulose propionate, cellulose- and polyester-based bioplastics, SLA resins, and PMMA.

Dry barrel polishing consists of placing parts in bulk into rotating barrels containing wooden pegs coated with our specially formulated abrasive pastes. As the barrels rotate, the parts are subjected to continuous friction against the pegs, which gradually polish their surface.

Several successive steps using the appropriate paste make it possible to remove surface defects such as parting lines, scratches, and micro-defects, in order to achieve finishes ranging from satin to ultra-high gloss.

Our range covers the entire process: grinding, smoothing, polishing, and brightening. Each formulation is designed to meet a specific requirement in terms of grit size, abrasive performance, and gloss level.

Simple, practical, and cost-effective, dry polishing is suitable for the treatment of small and medium-sized parts made of plastics, natural materials, and hard metals.

Committed to environmental responsibility, our premium range is eco-designed and developed with formulas free from hazardous substances, allowing you to anticipate future regulatory developments.

605AN POLISHING PASTE

Fine polishing for final gloss Step 3 : Polishing

605AN polishing paste contains very fine abrasives that deliver ultra-high-gloss finishes by wearing down the surface of the parts rather than waxing them.

It removes surface defects and micro-scratches and is perfectly suited to cellulose acetate, bioplastics, polyester, Plexiglas®, and precious metals.

Its key advantage: it ensures a perfectly brilliant finish while leaving a protective greasy film. Parts come out of the barrel ready to use, clean and glossy, with no additional cleaning required.

Results on cellulose acetate polished for 16 h: roughness Ra 0.04 µm — gloss at 60°: 85 GU.

Free from crystalline silica.

Relevent materials

Cellulose acetate, bioplastics, polyester, Plexiglas®, precious metals

Business applications

Eyewear, hair ornaments, jewelry, buttons, guitar picks, design, automotive
